However, the treatment is very similar to a tattoo, so it is important you define exactly what will work for you before you decide to have it. Though the result will fade over several years it will not disappear completely. It is therefore important that you feel comfortable with the overall concept.

Eyebrows
If you want to emphasise your ‘brows’ this procedure will be perfect for you saving time by never having to use pencil again. Once the procedure is complete you can swim, take part in sporting activities or even lie in the sun without the worry of having to re-apply pencil.

The treatment can produce a soft textured look or hair simulation.

This is ideal if you have very little brow hair due to over tweezing. The difference balanced brows can make is amazing.

Eyeliner & Eyelash Enhancement

What results can I expect?
Micro Pigmentation leaves a semi permanent pigmentation in the area treated. This can be used to mimic the appearance of make-up or cover up scars, blemishes or hair loss. Your features and appearance will be enhanced and your make-up will look perfect every day.

What is involved?
Semi Permanent Make-Up is a non-surgical procedure very similar to tattooing. Our fully qualified Medical Aestheticians are with you every step of the way from initial contact and consultation including a style and colour assessment through to treatment and aftercare.

You should allow a minimum of 1½ hours for a new procedure. A very fine needle is used to place colour or pigment into the dermal layer of the skin at a very high speed via a small hand-held device.

The treatment is most commonly applied to the eyebrows, eyelids and lips but can be used on other parts of the face. Whilst for some people this is a painless procedure, others may feel minimal discomfort. To help with this a topical anaesthetic is applied.

What are the risks? 
The risks with Micro Pigmentation are minimal but as some people can be allergic to cosmetics; our team here at nu-age medical spa recommend that you always undertake a skin test in a concealed area before treatment, to see how your skin reacts. Also if the needle is inserted too deeply into the skin a small amount of bleeding may occur causing the spread of the pigment or hair damage. This can be permanent and can lead to scarring.

Aftercare
After the procedure the area treated may appear swollen and the colour will appear darker and more intense. This will last for several days.

The healing process and pigment can take up to 6 weeks to settle in the skin and for the true colour to emerge.

How long will the results last?
Although the pigment molecules stay in the skin indefinitely the treatment will fade over time so the colour remains visible for several years.

The degree to which this happens will depend upon the patient’s age, skin type, colour choice and lifestyle. In most cases the treatment will have to be repeated on average every 3-4 years.
